so I originaly had an issue with my hood when the stupid guy at the autocross slammed it shut. it started out by not latching shut. so I figured out my latch got out of alinment. I realighned it and it worked well for a whille although the hood did sit a hair higher and not as flush with the fenders. now at the time when I realined it I also added a front sturt bar which contacted my hood slightly, my hood latch still latched so I didnt worry much about it, I just delt with the slightly raised hood.

recently I picked up an ss hood, same issue arose. the hood would sit totaly flush when the hood latch was out. but as soon as the latch went back in the hood would sit to high. no matter if the hood latch was in the lowest possiable position. I also took out EVERYTHING that could possiblly be contacting the hood.

I have been messing with this issue for some time know and I CANT FIGURE IT OUT!!!!!

I have already replaced the latch mechinizm and the latch on the hood. what else can it be???? I am at a total loss.

the car has not been in any front end collisions so the raddiator support should be totaly strait.

what should I do

Using the original hinges? Maybe they got tweaked if the hood was slammed with the strut brace installed?

the hinges in the back of the hood?
the weird thing is when the latch is off of the hood and the main latch is out the hood will sit perfectly flush

maybe the hood risers, theyre rubber and twist counter/clockwise.

I pulled them right out lol I made sure that nothing under the hood was contacting it.

does anyone have a picture of there hood latch latched? I know its kind of an odd request lol my latch only latches about 3/4 of the way down, is this normal?

so im gonna try starting right from the begining, im gonna try realighning every thing possible and hopefully I can get some where

just put a couple of washers under your frnders to bring the front of them up to the level of your hood.
