how do I make the angle of the vf11 mate up with a 07 wrx ic?

I had to use a custom y-pipe made from clamped hoses and piping.

Subscribed, I have a TMIC in my closet that I got for $10, a vf11 that needs a friend, and no money.

I searched quite a bit to no avail, aside from it being more difficult than with a TD04

Since this was from September it must have been done by now, so pictures would be awesome. I started this last night and it seems it would be easier with a non-clocked turbo. That coolant line is also right in the way !!!

The turbo outlet on a 45 upward and the TMIC inlet is pointed on a downward. Im almost thinking of using copper short radius 90's & 45's :?:

Potter still hasn't done this yet, we should be getting this together this week end.
CFK a 45 degree hose or pipe will work I believe its a small diameter like a 1 7/8 of an inch.
If you do a tmic you will need to extend the y-pipe a few inches to reach the turbo outlet to the tmic inlet
take the coolant lines on the turbo, clip the inlet and outlet apart. That way you can position the inlet
to clear everything. you also need to find or make a plate for the tmic bpv.

Hi, I purchased the cheap Ebay Y-Pipe, 2-1 3/4" Silicone Reducer, 1 3/4" 45, and couplings. Wish I got a 1 3/4 90 though.

With the clocked turbo none of those things seemed to line up either way, so I went out and got some copper fittings im gonna use. I think 1: short radius 1 1/2 90 into a long radius 1 1/2 street is gonna be my best bet. Im gonna braze the copper together, then use a silicone coupling to the turbo outlet and reducer to the Y-Pipe.
Hard to explain , but I'll take photos when complete.

Im just not sure when you say " clip the inlet and outlet apart " for the coolant lines ? are you saying to
Un-Clock the Turbo ? Which would move that fitting out of the way ?

I got EXTREMELY lucky and found a member going FMIC, so i bought their whole TMIC set-up. I can only imagine the headaches involved with making it all mate up perfectly though

That's why my intercooler is still in my closet :lol: At least until I can get a TD04 or find a solution to make it fit the VF11

I made it work using 2 Short Radius 1 1/2" copper 90's shortened up a bit then I brazed a piece in between
( 1- 90 & 1- Street should be fine ). Coupled with a silicone 2" - 1 3/4" reducer from the Y-Pipe and a 1 3/4" coupling to the turbo outlet.

Then a 3/4 copper street 90 ( ACR ((OD)), not plumbing ((ID))can only be found at a Refrigeration & HVAC supplier ) for the crankcase vent. A short piece of 3/4 tranny hose from crankcase to coupling side of the copper street, then 5/8 ID tranny hose from the street side of the coupling out towards the firewall and back to your relocated F-Pipe or Catch Can.

Pictures are obviously more helpful and I will post some hopefully tomorrow after my Catch Can & FCD install :D
