E-manage ultimate?

Been toying with standalone lately and looks like the way I will go, however there are some piggyback benefits that seem nice. When I read about the e-manage ultimate I get a bit exited but I seem to be seeing conflicting info about it.Has anyone actually used one on a legacy? what kind of potential is there with one of these compared to other piggy options? is there more room for power or is it just fancier features with the same end result potential.I guess I am just trying to find any reason to talk myself out of buying a wolf 3D

I'm running this on my OBD2 Forester. You've probably searched online and not found much help.....I know I haven't. There is one very good post
HERE about running it on a turbo'd '97 Legacy GT. In fact, I bought his EMU (emanage ultimate) and am running his base map (he moved on to a WRX swap). It works about 90% OK...just needs to be fine-tuned for my car,......
Tuning - I'm really a noob to tuning (which is why I loved the Revtronix chip- plug and play), and currently reading "How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems " by Jeff Hartman. As I've had no success trying to tune the EMU myself. I have a WB for AFRs, a scan tool and logging built-in to the EMU and whenever I make a change it's not for the better.
My point is that if you know how it all works together, you can make it work well (once your figure out the EMU's interface), if not, then plan on spending time @ a tuner's. The guy I bought mine from spent hours tuning (and hundreds in gas $$), but still took it to a tuner to get it perfect as a dyno is really required to see the little differences a bit of timing/fueling here and there makes.
I guess if tuning was easy, tuners would be out of business!
