hi i buy a new subaru legacy 1994 few day ago to replace mine who got engine on fire.
since i did all the suspension brake ect... i want to keep this model .

now i got this little issue my car seem to get more rev more rpm" even on idle or on a street light while im just hitting the brake

if i give a little gas the rpm lower

but my worrie is if this winter i use the remote starter i wont know if its doing it!

what can cause this??? thx in advance guy

also some ppl told me thta the probleme with these car are coil pack, thats what usualy make the engine in fire there is some powdwr in the wire that fall on intake that can be the cause of the fire.
dunno if that make sense but that what i got told too

i had change my coil for diamond one day before the engine burn, so its may be this dunno just let you know.
hope this never happen to anyone

peace and thx in advance

It's possible the idle air control valve may be sticking causing the high idle.

Yup, could be the IAC isn't working properly.

When this was happening for me (idle was 1500 rpm and went up every week), turned out the throttle position sensor was going out... so I re-adjusted it per the FSM specs. Then I also had to adjust the bottom 'stopper g screw' since it had worked its way out.

Yes there's a difference between the non-turbo & turbo IAC valve.

The piping is the difference. You could try to use a non-turbo one, but it's going to be a pain in the butt. Look for a used one in the parts shed if you don't want to pay for a new or can't find one in a junkyard.
