So I have a 94 legacy turboed and I fixed all the problems that I thought it had cel went off and it idles good and everything. But for some reason now when I drive it between 35 and 4000 rpms my turbo spools and you can here it spinning but the rpms stop and the car won't go any faster? It almost kinda spudders. What could cause that? I really don't understand much about these cars. And oh am I learning. I've always had a passion for these cars and I feel like I bought the one with the most problems. But if you have any idea what may be wrong with my car the advice would be very appriated.

Auto or Manual?
Can the car go above 4k rpm's?
Does it spudder only when you get into boost or is it 3500 - 4000 rpm's regardless of pressure?
What spark plugs you running?

Regardless of pressure. And manual I just fixed knock and fuel injectors. Wasn't doing this before. I put ngk spark plugs in it. What factory recommends.

It ran fine before I put a new knock sensor in it.

Did you replace the knock sensor with a NEW one or another used one?, Also, has the "Check Engine" light come on at any time? And just wondering...why did you change the knock sensor if it ran fine before?

Bc the check engine light was on. I got it bc I ran codes and that was it. Took it off it was cracked. And I bought a brand new one from autozone.

It's all stock. Like only aftermarket parts under the hood is intercooler and set up for mbc. Don't have one tho. Turbo is all stock. I just put new plugs and wires on it. I put a new fuel filter on it has new ks and 2 fuel injectors. The car ran good but I had a lil miss when I got it. I ran codes the fuel injectors and the ks so I replaced them. And it spudders now lyk I said. It's worse when the car is at running temp. I don't know a whole lot about cars. But I so know when you put brand new stuff in it shouldn't run worse.

Wait, so you also replaced the knock sensor and the injectors? Are they the OEM "pink" ones, and are the replacement ones used, new, reconditioned, or ?

You cleared the codes AFTER replacing the parts, correct? Can you REV it past 4K RPM in Park or Neutral (don't hold it @ high RPM - just go up and back down.)
We say it a lot on here, but only because it happens a lot. Please double-check your vac lines. If someone had an MBC on it, they were messing w/the lines to BCS, @ least.

It will rev no problem. It's just when I drive. And uyes I did clear the codes after I replaced those parts. And also I havent messed with them before this all happened bc it was running good. But since I changed the ks and the fuel injectors and this happened I correctly hooked the hoses up for the mbc bc they passed the wastegate control valve for some reason. And put plug on turbo the nipple on the turbo that has to have the hose ran into. They plugged it( put a rubber thing on it to bypass it). So I hooked it up right. But like I said I did that after I changed that stuff and the codes were cleared just to see if that would help. Especially since I rather have it right.

Also, please proof-read your posts. What do 'jvent' and 'And put plug on turbo' mean?

I checked the coil pack and it's good so nvm that. But this is so frustraighting. I don't have any clue why it would do this.

I think you need to focus on what you replaced since things worked prior to that. Is the knock sensor a Subaru genuine part or one from an autoparts store?

actually started tearing everything apart today. replaced vacuum lines and put clamps on them. previous owner just slide on hoses... so i replaced most of them and i looked at my ks... and i couldn't believe what i did. i didn't tighten it all the way. it was moving some if i pushed on it so i tightened it and with those 2 things. my car is running great. i cant believe i did that and also thanks everyone for helping even though it was my own stupidity that made the car sputter.

Glad you got it figured out.
I'd suggest resetting the ECU, so the ECU does not have those drive cycles in its learned memory.

The shifter bushings likely need to be replaced. There's bushings in the u-joint and bushings holding the shifter linkage. Replace all of them. Kartboy makes urethane bushings for the shifter linkage. It's a HUGE improvement. Search and check out some threads for more info.
