2,5 shortblock swap in 2 liter car

Just wondering if anyone has done what i'm thinking of..

I've sourced an EJ25 shortblock, and now i'm thinking of using it in my '93 2 liter Legacy.
The mechanical side of it is no problem for me, but a few questions come to mind:

Using the original 2 liter heads. How about compression ratio? I can calculate how high it will be (and alter it), but what's considered the highest acceptable ratio when running 99 octane?

Running the bigger volume engine on the original ECU. Will the system accept a higher volume of air, or will it set a DTC on the Mass Air Flow sensor?
If so - would an ECU from a 2,2 liter car do the trick?

Any input is very welcome. :-)

Was hoping to see more input on this. Did you go through with it?

Aerotech has a EJ257 shortblock with early Legacy EJ20G heads. RS/RA heads to be exact. He is happy with the result. I do not know all the details though.

why does your legacy have only a 2 liter engine?
