Clutch woes 02-05 wrx 6 puck clutch installed in 92 ss

so its been 3 months since ive swapped out a tranny and a clutch in my 92 ss, and i still cant get the clutch to fully disengage...
so far i have:
replaced the clutch master (was properly bench bleed)
replaced the slave cyl
bypassed the clutch dampener with a straight brake hose from the master to the slave
adjusted the pedal play
extended the slave push rod by an inch... (before with the stock length there was a thumbs gap between the rod and clutch fork with the slave fully pushed back, and with the fork pushed forward before you felt resistance)
still the clutch is not fully disengaging... with the clutch pedal held to the floor in gear the car slowly lurchs forward like an automatic... but slips freely. You let the pedal out and it engages fully no problem.
so this pretty much leaves the fault left for the clutch... but i heard that 02-05 are interchangable with ss.
I know for sure that the clutch fork is slipped into place for the release bearing...
but when i had the clutch out i didnt like how the release bearing had to be pulled straight and squarely about a centimeter before the ring (on the other side of the release bearing) would lock into place and pull the clutch finger/prongs.
maybe on the other side of the release bearing you have to bend something in to make it so it pulls right away?
please guys i need your help.
