Because it's a shield cable.

Lol, I guess that was a dumb question. I just would thing it would be affected by anything. Is it for heat and noise?

The shielding is for electro magnetic interference (EMI) also sometimes referred to as EMF. Every electrical wire produces some EMI, but it's primarily caused by non-resistive high tension spark plug wires.

You could probably get away without shielded wire, but the factory overdesigns things, espcially when it comes to sensors that are lower voltage and affect the engine's direct operability. Crank, cam, knock, & MAP sensors also have shielded wires.

What are you up to with a height control switch? Are you planning on adding the factory air suspension or something else?

Josh-Yea I kept it all wired the same so I shouldn't have any problems. Good to know it was overdesigned. If only they could have overdesigned and put a top mount in for us lol.

Danny- No air suspension for this car but if I have an open spot I'll stick it in and wire power to it for the little bulbs.

Nice parts man! I really need a turbo shield or chimney cause I'm heatsoaking like a mug. Also let me know if you have any issues with my parts.

Why doesn't the oil line fit? Can't you bend it a little bit to make it fit?

The bend at the bottom point bends in a way that wont allow it to be connected and the last thing I wanted to do was kink it and starve the turbo lol.

^ Yes Mike I do lol.
SO haven't done much since the last update, trying to pay off stuff before I go crazy with buying parts. I was hoping to have it rolling around X-Mas but I want the car to be almost done before I drive it again. I'll wait to do the tranny swap but I am going to change the brakes out again to 4/2 pots and put some coilovers on and that should do it for the extra stuff. But when this car is done it will be like factory so no messing around.

Well finally had some time to work on the car thanks to Ben(legacy4ever) for hooking me up with the connectors I needed so I could make this a factory install of all the lights and what not. Haven't finished everything as I am waiting to buy the correct gauge of wire. I am tired of using wire that is way to think like 14-16 AWG since that is about as small as you can get at home depot and even autozone. I will be buying like 20AWG shortly and hopefully be done with wiring by X-Mas. I did get a chance to do some more on the leveler motor wiring though.

And then I spent about 2 hours taking apart the old VF11 and cleaning it to make a nice paper weight
