as the title says ive got phase one dohc heads on my ej22t block from a second gen legacy it has all the egr shit on the back drivers side

i need to know what other intake manifolds fit my heads that dont have that egr shit on the back because im looking to rotate the IM for shorter fmic piping

A 97 forester intake manifold has no egr and the motor is an ej25 so it should be compatable.

98 was the first model year for Foresters in the states, are you talking about an overseas model? Both my 98 Foresters were federalized models and both had the EGR crap.

Yeah 97 Forester was JDM only. Came out same time as the 98 over here came out but in Japan they actually call it by the year it's released and not lie and call it next year's car like they do in the US. The 97 JDM Forester engine is an EJ20G.

Can you just put a blank plate over the EGR stuff? Or are you just looking for a manifold that doesn't have it at all?

I wasn't too sure of the year of the forester due to it being in a local junkyard I don't normally visit. I don't see an egr system unless its different from the legacy one.

Legacy777 - egr is all blocked off right now, i would like to rotate the intake manifold which i cant right now because all the big egr shit on the back side will hit the power steering once rotated

Florin1 - as far as i know you can not use turbo legacy intake manifold on any heads but the stock ones

From what I've read the Phase 1 SOHC IM only fits the same Phase 1 SOHC heads ('90-98 na or turbo) same story for the Phase 1 DOHC heads ('96-99)....so easy answer, IM must match the type of head.

You'll need to find a JDM DOHC IM for your project. I'd check w/JDM importers as they should have extras, as they aren't used when swapping in the long blocks.....since the USDM NEED the EGR they re-use their original one.

i cut and ground all the egr crap off my 25D manifold and tig welded the holes shut. took like 45min

so you made a blocking plate and it still doesn't fit?
