Completed a 5spd swap!

Hey guys just had to make a thread so happy it is finally finished, wanted to give a heads up. Only wiring I did was jump 2 pins at the tcu harness outside the car for starter interlock. My cruise control still works, just need to wire up my reverse going to cut a pig tail at a scrap yard, same for the starter interlock just for safety of other people moving my car.....

Car like others have found it is like day and night! Running revtronix stage 2 relocated my knock sensor up near the bottom of the stock coolant take there is already a hole taped for the same bolt and it works awesome no knocking issues etc...

Love my car all over again!

Cool!

Did you remove the TCU or leave it in? If you removed the TCU, I'm kind of surprised your cruise still works.

My tcu is removed :) Everything is working fine. Any issues with not cutting the MT/AT identifying wire? Car drives great, but my idle kind of sucks, than again sucked auto too.

Hey, btw, the other night your car looked good! Enjoy the revtronix chip and your 5mt! We should do a leggy cruise one of these days!

Your idle may be off because the AT/MT is not right.

Is it that important? I figure idle is idle. Car is flipin fast though, torque is brutal my neck hurts alot, my friends said the same in the morning complaining about there necks. The torque hits hard but I love it!

To be honest though like I said idle was crap even before. That's why I kind of feel I should replace the iac gasket and the diaphram seal and really clean the iac in a parts washer. I have already sprayed some cleaner through it which does work but not for a very long time which leads me to believe it is either very sludged up or a air leak.

Will work on it during the week though and get some feedback.

Hmm....it's probable the cruise on the turbo cars uses the same cruise computer for both MT & AT. On the 90-91 non-turbo models, there's a different cruise computer for MT & AT. I had to switch computers when I did my swap.

Regarding the idle, if you didn't mess with the AT/MT identifier, you probably should, it's not hard, just snip a wire.

Hey josh snipped the wire. I don't know if the ecu had to learn or what but the idle didnt fix itself right away so I sprayed some pentrating oil down he iac hose and let it sit for 10+mins and went out and drove the car idle was pretty good definitely ALOT better not perfect though but was very good regardless!

Eric,

It would be a good idea to reset the ECU after snipping that wire.

Ya? Ok ill give it a shot. Idle is pretty damn good though and flippin fast with stage 2 revtronix! Sometimes doesn't feel like it pulls very hard up top, but I think my turbo is making more noise than usual now?! Regardless still having fun! :D

Winter tires next starting to slow and my bald summer wheels aren't going to do it, ESPECIALLY now! Dyno hopefully soon thinking around the 250ft-lb range!
