EWG Info for shopping

I read some of this post http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic. ... &hilit=EWG

I'm think about picking up a EWG for my ct26 turbo (or whatever other turbo i find that is better than my VF39) i wanna put on my legacy.

Anyways, i knw i wanna buy one with a lower psi spring, im going to be using my AEM Tru Boost to control boost as soon as i get my mac 3port bcs in the mail.

Im boosting @ 16psi on a vf39 with a turbo xs mbc and i hate my mbc and want to utilize full function of my tru boost (love the gauge by the way)

So here's what i want to know, has anyone ordered the cheap EWGs off ebay and tested them?

Also, what's a better route, 38MM or 44MM? what's the differences?

ive got a cheap ebay wg i got for free and its been working just fine. If i didnt have a boost cut in my ecu i would not trust the ebay gate, but since im overboost protected i took the chance.

What do you mean overboost protected?

im going with the emanage ultimate ive also got an aem tru boost gauge im going to finish installing soon, will an EBC eliminate overboost?

if the gate sticks or fails, my ECU (robtune ej20G) will not let the engine run more then 18psi of boost, just like the stock ecu boost cuts at 14psi

I my self would not buy an ebay EWG simply because just looking at the pictures, the valve face dose not have a complete seal with the body of the gate. thats going to cause even more boost lag cause the gates not fully shut plus make it a bitch to get your AFR's spot on. im going to get my self a Syncronic synapes 50mm EWG. this valve you can set when the valve starts to open. so if you target psi is say 20psi. you can set this thing to start opening just enough so you dont over shoot your mark say by 2,3 psi which is bad ass.
cost is around $250 - $300 but worth the money in my book.

just my .02

good luck!

then maybe its an alright WG, $50-$60 bucks cant beat that with a stick! give her a shot
quality of craftmen shit is always what you pay, i wouldnt trust a cheap WG on a built motor.
i lost a $700 garrett t3/t4 turbo due to a bov failing at 22psi. broke my heart, lol but god damn it smoked like crazy down the freeway.
