Drivers door not locking reliably, parts question.

Pulled apart the 90 Legacy wagon to fix a few issues inside the door.

One: Door lock won't depress all the way and many times the front door will "lock" but won't close, even when holding the handle up. 9 times out of 10 if pushed extra hard the lock with depress and I can close the door. Unfortunately the 1 time out of 10 it doesn't work is when I'm in a parking lot and actually want to lock the door. I greased the internals and pulled off the trim behind the interior door handle. This seems to help, but it works when it wants to. Any insight?

Two: The window switch unit broke away from all three of its mounts. I had to pull the entire thing out and gorilla glue the post back to the front and the plastic bits of the mounts to the back. That is fixed and holding solid.

So if someone can help me with the lock situation that would be great. I should also mention the lock cylinder just spins and spins when trying to use the key to lock. Is this problem most likely related?

Also I wanted to find out what the black plastic trim covers for the upper door are called (part numbers?) They are triangular and push into the space at the very front of the window on top of the sill. The passenger side was broken when I bought the car, and I unfortunately broke the drivers side. Any idea where to get these?

In regard to the little black plastic triangles, I found a set at the junkyard after forgetting I needed to find a set. Finding them is tough, it took four legacys for me to find a full set. So I would suggest searching the junkyards till you find a pair with the mounts attached.

I'd suggest checking this thread
http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=40575

It may not be exactly your problem, but it would be a start. You're going to need to take the door panel off and look at the door handle & lock button mechanism as well as the rods and such.

As for the black triangles, go to the stuff you need to know thread, find the parts catalog thread by me, and download the parts catalog from my site. It's got all the part #'s in it.

Be careful with the tits, on those triangles. They break off easily.

Being careful with tits is good advice.
