Euro Rearend Questions

Has anyone actually succeeded in plastic welding an insert to the USDM rear bumper? I think this would be much cheaper than importing an entire bumper. It's mentioned in several posts regarding the EDM trunk trim piece, but I've searched, and can't seem to find a picture or even a mention of actually completing a rear bumper.
Also, do the tailights need to be modified? Phase 2 Legs have tailights in the garnish, can I just rewire to have plate lights from these connections?

Filling the plate area in the bumper wouldn't be hard. You can use fiberglass, but IMO, if you want to do it right, it's polypropylene, so you'll need a sheet of that and some weld rod. PP is pretty easy to deal with. I filled some holes in my front and rear bumpers without a problem. I have a wagon, so I don't know much about the garnish. I don't see why you couldn't probably make a new piece out of almost anything, could make the inset lights whatever shape you want, or rewire the other taillights however you'd need if you are looking to get rid of them.
