I've pulled a couple motors and reinstalled on manual transmission cars. This is my first build with an auto tranny T-Leg wagon and I'm wondering what the correct way to mate the motor back to the tranny. I reinstalled the torque plate and mated the tranny and engine back together. I'm trying to figure out how to line up the 4 bolt holes from the torque plate to the other plate (not sure what it's called) that's attached to the tranny.

Also if anyone has those 4 bolts laying around or can tell me what size they are so i can pick some up at the hardware store, would be much appreciated. Not sure where mine went =T

two things,
one there should be a small amount of space in betwen the ''flex plate'' on the engine and the ''torque converter''on the trans. this should allow you to rotate each until you get the bolt holes lined up. there is an access hole on the top of the engine passenger side under the throttle body. it has a plastic cover / plug. install and tighten the bolts there.

two, do not DO NOT use the trans to engine housing bolts to ''pull'' the two together. if you cannot get the housings to meet up correctly, the torque converter may not be seated correctly. if not, using the bolts to pull them together will kill the oil pump in the trans and it will be borked.

did you have the TC out of the trans?

did this trans come in the car?

who pulled the engine, did the TC come out of the trans any distance at all?

have you already bolted the housing together? if so the damage may be done if not correct.
