One word. Popularity. I stumbled into the Legacy world while researching the impreza. I was looking for an AWD car for safety and an insurance break, I discovered the Legacy had the identical drivetrain as the impreza and was about 1/4 the price. Why? The impreza is popular, the Legacy isn't.

Popular sells. Bottom line. Doubly so in video games.

Imprezas will be in games as they are popular, Legacys will be largely overlooked as they are not popular.

That is true. But that doesn't really apply to the cars in GT5. There are a ton of unpopular, oddball cars in there. So the BC Legacy should have been included. Why so many Daihatsus? There was no room for the Legacy after adding 51 Skylines.

I had that Tokyo Extreme Racer Drift 2 before... when I had it I didn't know about the legacy being in there, if I had I would still have it. If I remember correctly the handling was really bad or I just sucked lol but it wasn't too bad compaired to Need For Speed games.

Too bad it's a shitty game. I bought it after someone here mentioned there was a 1st gen legacy in it and couldn't stand playing the game. The handling was awful it was unplayable.

our legacy's have the edurance record, first rally car for subaru with colin even, only rally car in history that has finished South africa rally. its a good game with out a single old legacy !!

Yet another example of the schizophrenic design. I wonder if it would have been more polished if Kaz didn't go racing as often? I've been playing the series since GT1, as a longtime fan I'm disappointed in GT5.

Like I say in all of these discussions, it's not difficult to add 213874638794 of the same car, they're changing the colors, maybe tweaking the settings, but they have the basic design already done, it's not like they sat and modeled the Skyline 51 times.

But there are plenty of cars that shouldn't be in the game, a premium Prius?? Really?? Mazda 323F?? Yet they're missing a bunch of cars with real racing history, they didn't even put the e30 m3 in, and it's still the winningest touring car ever.

Wangan Midnight has it?? Damn, I'll have to start playing that again. That game is pretty difficult/tedious though...I'm surprised to see someone else that knows of the game though, I picked it up when I was in Japan
