Thanks for the welcome guys!
off to a good start! I'm ordering an intercooler today! along with basic tune up items!
but i do have some questions on the shifter
I read this
http://legacycentral.org/library/shifter.htm
but are there any guides on it???
the legacy runs like new, but unfortunately i can feel the 220,000 miles on the shifter

Nice find! Basically you can swap the entire shifter/shift linkage but you need everything from where the double spring pin is backwards. I also recommend getting a kartboy rear shifter "stay" bushing or whatever they call it. Improves quite a bit on the slop.

Here's a post I made the other day with some links to some additional info, about 3/4 of the way down in the post.

Injectors wont work! wrx is top feed. Our cars are side feed. Only ones that work are STI ones.

I am a car dealer by living and when I see a clean condition car like this, I have no choice but to get it! It's rare to find one owner cars!

Its from 20 years of driving on salted roads... I wish I lived in Colorado or Oregon I dont think they use salt there

Yeah salt isn't used here in Colorado, but mag chloride is nasty stuff. My rear quater pannels were rusted to hell. So either way mag versus salt both are horrible in the long run.
Sweet 91 glad to see more 91's popping out of the wood work.

These cars actually don't have a rust problem—they're better than their contemporaries and even much newer cars, but they are made out of steel and steel does rust. It's more an environmental problem than a specific car one. Any steel car would rust under the same circumstances and likely worse. It sounds petty, but saying they have a rust problem implies that the cars are particularly rust prone like a 70s Alfa or Datsun or even the earlier 80s Subarus.
