Mystery box

The bracket that holds the pressure sensor, pressure exchange and
wastegate solenoids for my turbocharger has a small item attached to
the back. It is silver, about 2" x .5" x .25" and has two wires
coming out of the end. It has JECS imprinted on it.
Anybody know what this is?
