'90 LS AWD 4eat into '93 L AWD?

I've got a '90 LS AWD with a decent 4eat in it, but the car needs several thousands of dollars put into it to make it "normal" again.
A friend of mine has offered his '93 L AWD as payment for a full detail on his wife's '08 Forester... but the 4eat that's in it is completely shot.
Is this a drop-out-drop-in situation?

Don't the 90's have different connector plugs than the 91-94? I know my 90 ss AWD had a different transmission plug than my 93 did. I think all you'd have to do is match up wires and cut/splice the new connector in.

Hi,
They have different Final Drive ratios. '89-91 were 4.11; '92-94 are 3.90 (and '91-94 Turbos). You'll need the rear diff from the donor, too.
I can't speak to the connectors being different....I thought they matched....1st I've read of differences.
Also, get the TCU from the donor.

The connectors should be the same, but as mentioned the final drive ratios are different.
