so, I blew a connecting rod apart, and it destroyed my crank, and I havent looked into much else closely, but it seems like my heads are fine. does anyone have a block with good crank/ rods? or just a crank and rods? or what can I do to get it back on the road again? I found a small peice of block chipped from the rod hitting it, but it seems small and not significant.

My whole car was 800.00, thats just too much for my wallet, I'm paying for school and have a super tight budget, If parts are that much, I'll have to sell or part out what I have..

No they're not that much I was just lettin you know (not knowing your budget) that there is a brand new complete shortblock ready to bolt heads to that wouldn't need any work done to it. For a used shortblock you're looking at 300 on the low end and probably $500-$600 on the high end.

yeah, I mean I wish I could get a new block, and not worry about anything after that, but I just have to get rid of it unless I can find something. thanks for the info though!

okay you never say where you are located at. state ways.

if you are close enough I may be able to help you out. have an engine that the bearings are shot. but it still turns and should be a good rebuild core. am able to turn the crank but you feel the play in the parts.

so that is why I ask where you are located. this will still take a week atleast. engine is located up at house. 100 m iles each way.

good luck with the sale. be well, Bepa

Also, EJ22 crank and rods are forged parts as well, so they don't have to be from a turbo block.
