How long are clutches lasting? Suppose to last? Survey?

I know this depends a lot on driving style and over all I'd say I'm a pretty conservative driver but I bought my 94 Legacy Wagon FWD 9 years ago with 79000 miles and it now has 175500 on it with no hint of clutch issues. Is that normal? Could it possibly be the original clutch? I do not know any history of the car before I bought it. I'm not complaining, just wondering if I'm going to be loading up on more one time use tools.

I replaced my transmission at around 175k miles (I blame all the J turns and such) and the clutch looked like it still had about half its life left. Replaced it anyway.

I have 135,000 on my 94 n/a AWD, original clutch, 1 owner.
My friend bought a 93 n/a AWD with the clutch already gone and that car had around 140,000.
