I'd have cut down the windshield, eliminated the B-pillars, and welded at least the back doors shut with a couple bars across the lower front doors tying the A and B pillars together. Don't know if I'd bother with a top at all, but it could be made to match the cut down windshield as well. Maybe a removable FG hardtop instead. Even better, a sliding canopy that opens at arm rest level and acts as a targa with the roof off when slid back and having no need for the weight and weakness of opening doors or a convertible top. With bars welded across the former door apertures, a frame for the fixed rear part of the canopy, and polycarbonate for glass, it woud be lighter and stiffer than the stock car. The canopy could also be made to look a lot more interesting that the original roof. Don't know about the legalities of selling a new car with plastic glass, but I wonder about the liability they're taking on with this anyway.

Its definatly different and I have a feeling it will grow on me with time, like the WRX hatch did. I give points for being unique. I think the uniqueness is part of the negative feedback and partly due to Subaru not probucing a convertable, I think a gc coupe would make a good convertable if someone had the time to hack the roof off and set it up right.

ya im from manch too and i unfortunetley have seen this car in person and it looks like crap. The top does not even fit right lol

oh really it does look sloppy they should just keep it convertible no top
