I never ended up selling those spare rs arms, so I got annoyed and finally took the spoiler off the driver's side arm. From what I can tell, the spoiler is mounted (riveted) down on a kink and a straight part of the arm. This means that one of the areas where the mounting hole is on the spoiler has a lip on it that is at the same angle as the kink. Without shaving this down with a razor, it doesn't seem like it will fit our arms well. Additionally, even once that lip is shaved down, mounting it on our arms seems to make it hang lower. In my case, the spoiler would end up hitting the raised part of the cowling every time it returned to it's default position. So i'm not sure if they're a good match for our arms like the accord spoiler is.

Edit: If you trim the rs spoiler with a razor, just to clean up that lip, you can probably mount it on the thin part of the wiper arm towards the blades without much hassle.

I haven't given it a shot (nor did i know that they had spoilers) but something tells me there's actually not enough curve down by the base of the arm. But only a hunch.

true but the final kink looks higher to makeup for the first one.....if that even makes sense

lol, yeah it does. The problem with the rs arm was that the initial bend in the lower arm didn't clear the cowling. well, that, and that the diameter of the mounting hole was too great. But who knows for sure until someone tries i guess.

So, still trying to decide on one or two, but at very least going back to zero is no longer an option.

Looks good. I haven't put mine on yet. Don't know if I will either I don't really have a streaking or shuddering problem with my wipers.

Thanks kimo. To tell you the truth, i really only have the problem on the passenger side that i've noticed. But i do very much enjoy looking all rally-ish.

by the way, any one doing this who is a retard like me. the rivets you need, as zagarus mentioned are 1/8 by 3/8. or rather, the diameter needs to be about 1/8 and the GRIP RANGE needs to be approximately 3/8 or about .375 inches. I must have bought like 6 sets of rivets trying to get this right.

I painted my rivets when I did this on my
red wagon.

I painted the front wipers and rear wiper on the green
wagon after wire brushing them and hitting them with
some brake clean to get rid of the rust. Just used cheesy
black primer from Autozone, but they look really good.
We'll see how long it holds up. Worst case scenario I
can pull them off and have them painted again in 15 minutes.

I painted mine on my first legacy flat black. Never again. After a year or so they started to rust and now they're terrible. Sandblasted the set on my current legacy and painted them with a real paint gun this time and clear coated them and they look brand new almost a year later.

Yeah, i'll probably hand paint the rivets. It was impossible finding black rivets, let alone the correct diameter and grip range.

My arms were sandblasted and then powder coated. So i'm hoping they'll stay nice for a while.

Kimo, yeah, putting this spoiler on is almost entirely about aesthetics for me. Which is kinda why i'm still stuck on whether or nor i should put the second one on.

I used some semi-flat black several years ago, and to my surprise it has held up amazingly!

I kind of would like a spoiler on the driver's side as I get a little streaking at higher speeds.

I ended up painting my first set with barbecue
grill paint. It's held up for over a year now and
looks great.

The wipers on the new Legacy were covered
in rust and all I did was wire brush them, hit
them with some brake cleaner and brush them
again til it looked like the rust was gone. Then
I painted them with that primer so we'll see how
they look in 6 months.

Can you take some pictures of the back side of the wiper arm and how the spoiler hooks up.

Sorry to revive an oldie but I was pretty excited to knock this one out today. I got a couple from accords and found another off a 2002 Outback. Obviously I wanted to use the Subaru one. Works well but I had to file the plastic down a tad to keep it from slapping the windshield. Here it is.
