NEED HELP NOT RUNNING

Hi all,
I have a 93 legacy ej22 wagon. I just replaced the oil pump,water pump, timing belt,head gaskets ect.ect.
All the vacuum

lines were trash, so I replaced them. Now the car wont start. I have fuel and spark. The only thing that is not hooked up is the air box,and mass air flow sensor. The check eng. light flashed a code for ''use of improper air flow sensor". I double checked everything. Even the timing. Would the air box not being hooked up cause the car not run?
Thank you all in advance for all the help!!!

You can't run the engine without the Mass Air flow Sensor plugged in and you need to have the intake all plumbed up to it as well. If the ECU can't see how much air is coming into the engine, it can't tell how much fuel to inject so it won't inject any. It's a safety precaution to protect the engine.

Thanks for the reply, Not getting any fuel is not the problem. It's getting fuel. I plugged in the mass air flow sensor today.
plugged in all the vac lines. and I still have the same problem. Is there anything else it could be?
Thanks again for all the help!!!

Did that code you were throwing go away after you plugged in the MAF? You might want to try and reset the ECU and clear any codes that are still on there.
Fallow the directions on here.

Hi all,
Yes all the wiring is hooked up. I thought it might be old gas so today I drained all the old fuel out ,put in new,and still nothing?????? All the vac lines are hooked up in the proper location.I have spark fuel, and compression. Any other Ideas?
Thanks

What exactly is the car doing. Cranking over only and never firing? Or does it fire a bit and die?
Since you just changed the timing belt I would suggest reviewing (again) the placement of the timing marks...IIRC the hanes manual says one thing and shows a picture that allows you to believe another. For some reason I want to say tat they mention the arrows on the cam sprokets, when really you need to be concerned with the lines.
