WRX shifter trouble (important update)

So I have run into a poblem trying install the WRX shifter on my 90. This car loves fighting me, however I always prevail. This time I may not be so fortunate. My car is FWD and I think this maybe the problem. So where the spring pin is in stock form on my vehicle is not straight up and down like on the WRX springpin is. I have verified this with my eyes as well with scanned documents. It might be the case that all you have to do is press the clutch and rotate the shaft but that shouldn't be possible seeing as that rod leads into the transsmission so I know this is not an option. I have had the car out of commission for about 2 weeks and if the base finds out it actually isnt driveable not sure what they'll do. Also kind of took the whole shifter apart on the stock unit so i'll need parts for that as well now...Shit.
I have searched and searched and haven't heard anyone running into this problem. If anyone could give me some info or insight into what I may not be thinking of that would be great.
So I was able to find a thread and look at a picture and it might indeed be that FWD vehicle can not use the WRX linkage without redrilling that pin hole. If anyone who has done this swap to there FWD please write on here. Thanks
Ok so again I did some more digging and in fact for whatever reason there are some difference between the FWD and AWD. You might be thinking well of course but I would think these would be.
I don't have the images but maybe if someone can post them up.
FWD figure #350-1/page 432
AWD figure #350-2/page 434
FWD #19/AWD #29-orentation of the springpin
FWD/AWD #3- rod is bent in the AWD, FWD is straight
FWD #32-is a dynamic damper for which I have no clue as to what it dynamicly dampens
AWD #21-is just called a washer for which I have no clue as to what it's washing
So again unless i weld something together or drill part number 19FWD/29AWD(this would be the WRX part I would need to drill, dont have the part number) it will not work on the FWD. Again if anyone has more information or have done this please post on this.
