I priced it out, and for a two inch lift, it's only $27.

So very sketchy...Just pick up some Outback springs...

I don't like it puts all the stress on three little spots in the strut tower. If you are going to use lift blocks, use proper ones from someone like SJR Lift.


Then there is the whole suspension geometry thing. It's one thing if you know what you are getting into, and another like the people these guys are marketing to. Yikes...

Ok, the thing is I just don't have the money. I know I will have to save some money for some OB Struts and Springs. In the mean time, I would like to try something cheap that way, I can get a feel of what i'm going to be paying for.

I wouldn't. You're taking a chance on breaking your car doing something like that.
Those caps are not a safe method considering your suspension only uses those
bolts to hold it in place, not support the weight of your vehicle. It puts a lot of stress
on those three points instead of the body of your car.

Yes, those ebay things would be really dangerous, don't risk it. I bet you can find some OB/Forrester struts/springs for less than $100, stock springs like that don't have a whole lot of demand.

Yep. That's the truth. And I'm pretty sure putting Forester springs on stock Legacy suspension would still give you a little lift, right? (I know the main part comes from the taller struts) Or at the very least a stiffer suspension.

Ok, thanks for all the input. I thought it was a bit sketchy. I know i'm just trying to rush the lifting proccess, but I just need to relax and save my money. lol.

No problem, man It'll be worth the wait for the Outback struts/springs
or for a big lift the Forester struts/springs

hey i have a custom lift i made out of 6061 aluminum, for a legacy 90- 99, and its a whole kit. if u look at a out back they have spacers though out the frame. i made one that is 2 inch spacers for the body, and 4 inch on the struts. if ur interested i can send some pics. note the outback and forester struts springs wont give that much lift with out there spacers included. i did a bunch of research before i made my own. so if u have any Q's let me know. BTW that vid is sketchy!!!!!

That'd be awesome if you could do that, also did your lift kit mess with the CV Joint angles at all?. I'll PM you my email address because if you post them on here, I wont be able to see them. Thanks for the info.

I live in Roseburg OR, 97471. How much did you end up paying for that lift Rubasu?

Thatsnot true, the spacers do nothing for the lift. The outback sturts will give u 2 inches of lift and anymore than that and u would want to get the differential drop plate and some other drop plates for ur engine and stuff. Srj lifts has some kits and it u go to ultimatesubaru.org u will find some good info on it. The only spacers that u would want and dont realy need is the front control arm bracket for the rears of the car. I cant remember if those are the ones but im pretty sure. The only thing they do is put the rear wheels back in the center Of the wheel well, but like i said u dont have to have them.

no one said u have to have the, but what they do is keep the drastic angle out of your cv axles. u can just half ass it. but i don't afro engineer. and Shaggy have u even look at a outback. those spacer are part of the lift. i believe that engineers designed it for a reason.


And I made the lift for around $150, but i did lose the bolts that i made, that were longer. Those can easily be made again.

What about putting Forester springs on stock Legacy L suspension? Would this give
a slight lift or at least more stiffness?

ill pull the print i made when i built it and post them for every one, or just make a thread. that will take me a bit so give me a min.
