been on the search for a while for these for my 92 L heard rumors that GC8 front strut bars will fit. found a 02-03 STi one for cheaper and wonder if that would fit as well. also been in the market for some lowering springs but don't know which if any subie's would fit or if there's something else (like civic springs) that would fit and give it a drop. doesn't look like i could put a rear strut bar on the leggy either

If you have no top mounted IC, any Impreza strut bar at least until 2006 should do, GC8 for sure. Rear strut bars also work. I have an imitation Cusco in the back of my wagon.

Strut bar is a waste, get a sway instead

Strut bar did help on my 96 L (Ebay one). But the sway made the big difference. The strut bar is for that extra little bit

Then it would make an even bigger difference, spend the $20 for the rear trailing arms with mounts, rather than wasting your money on a strut bar.

As far as springs, nothing off another car will lower it, your best bet is finding some used springs from a WRX or something if you want cheap.

I'm running 2004 Sti suspension on my wagon and it lowered it a good amount and it rides great. springs $25, top hats $25 junkyard, and 2004 Sti KYB stock replacement struts $ Forgot! BUT it was a very inexpensive suspension upgrade.
