Replacing rear quarter panel

Has anyone done this? Whats the difficulty on a scale 1-10? Any tips? Or don't bother?
The car has a huge ding in the side. Otherwise the body is pretty damn straight.

If its behind the rear wheel wells you should be able to take the trim out of the trunk and pound it out untill its about good, then body filler and repaint. I took a few small dents out that way but without the body filler and it worked quite well.

The ding is about 2 or so feet long and about 10 inches high. Wont be able to pound out without it being noticeable.

You're probably better off banging it out and body filling it. It's certainly quicker and easier.

Well if it results to that I may just leave it that way. She doesn't want it like that. But body work and pound things out don't work well with me. I will find a way to break something. I am afraid when I pound it out that it will wrinkle and I am not sure how body filler is going to fix that.
But I also don't know much about repairing body panels. I have done a full front end conversion on my 96.

Which side? Needless to say, the right side would be more difficult with the gas filler.

u should be able to remove the kickpanel are what ever it called and bang it out

I saw the car at BigNW meet and I took a picture of the left rear. I think it can be popped out no problem. What do you guys think?

Yep, easier to fix than replace. Of coarse, not so easy without proper tools. A stud welder and slide hammer would make short work of that. A little hammering, and finish it off with some bondo.

Well I saw you're '96 L with the flat black outback bumper and green gt hood, and I saw Oregon plates on this and I read the thing about the seatbelts so I knew '92 LS from Oregon. If I'm not mistaken this was the only first gen. LS at the whole meet too.

Yeah I need to get my front end painted. Good call on the only LS being there. Almost has 200k on it.
