While re-sealing the rails on the sunroof I notice these two indention's on the rear rubber seal, they almost look symmetrical. Is this normal or worn out and need's to be replaced?

If the rubber seal doesn't look smashed, it is probably made that way. You can look at the parts book and see if they show that seal in the diagram and see whether it has the indent or not.

Just checked and the parts book doesn't show those indention's. Could be smashed but in two different places like that. Maybe someone here has some pictures of this seal.

If not then I'll just buy it new

I went ahead and bought a new rear seal. I'll post up pics

Sad news, I just got off the phone with Subaruparts.com. They cannot order the seal as no more exist

Still got the other interior clips etc ordered, maybe I'll get lucky to find one in a junkyard or some will post here to just confirm the indention's.

I found that the indentions is not symmetrical. If I lay the sunroof glass on top of it and look from under the glass I can see the gaps there. Can someone take a picture of there sunroof to confirm? I'm sure it can be taken from within the car.

After installing the whole sunroof assembly back in the car yesterday is when I noticed...

The only time the glass touches that rear seal is when it is completely opened all the way back. So it serves no propose while the sunroof is completely closed.

PS the rear seal is able to be removed/replaced with only the glass out. I may try to find a better used one down the road.
