Key won't turn!

So after many years of being on the road my 94 SS apparently wants a break. Unfortunatly I still have to get to work and so on. Here is the problem. About a week ago the key began to be fussy about turning in the ignition, although manageable. Thing is that in the past two days it progressed to not turning at all. The steering lock is not the issue, as it seems the ignition switch itself wiggles around a lot. So I guess the questions I have are: Has anybody experienced this, and what was your remedy? And Is there a simple way to override this rather than having to get a new switch, and or a re keying as well? It only turns once every million tries, and I try to turn it off just before it hits the stop (where the key is free to come out), but enough to cut the power off. I am kind of sick of keeping a spare key to open the locked doors while leaving my locked car with the key in the ignition. Ideas???

The key's teeth worn down a lot? Might just need a new key from code. Dealer might be able to this with your VIN, otherwise the code is stamped on the passenger lock (have to remove the panel). The SS I previously owned has your exact problem when it was purchased; a new key fixed it.
If a new key doesnt fix it, then sounds like its time to replace the ignition cylinder.

I will second getting a new key made. Got mine done at walmart for $1.74 as long as you dont mind a generic style key. Fixed my ignition "hesitation".

Alright I just pulled the covers off and ziptied it back in place (it was really loose as well), and am going to get a key cut to code. If that don't do it I will want that ignition and key you have there CJ. Thanks for the help guys!
