Suicidal crank pulley...

The guy I got the car from, had done a shadetree repair on the main pulley, when he changed the timing belts. This led to a minor wobble in the pulley. It wasn't a big deal, until last night...
The crank pulley doesn't spin anymore, even with the motor running. None of the accessories are spinning either, consequently. Upon starting it, a whole lot of sparks shoot out from the pulley area.
I've got a feeling that his shadetree repair, is gonna end up costing me a whole motor. It's cheaper to replace, than to rebuild.
