Will a '91 2 wheel drive tranny interchange with a '91 AWD as a somewhat simple bolt in or are the two totally incompatable. The AWD trans (at 179K miles) began slipping with the selector in OD and is getting progressivly worse. I pulled the pan for inspection and found it to be pretty metallic. I have a 2WD with only 100K on the drivetrain and would consider swapping engine / trans into the AWD. any Ideas? Thanks, Les

Yes, you should be able to swap the FWD trans into the AWD chassis. The rear end should just freewheel. You'll probably have to swap over the FWD trans computer, but that shouldn't be an issue.
