Microsoft security essentials issue.

So last night, I got a windows update, that updated MSE. Now the updater (mpcmdrun.exe) won't stop running everytime the computer sits idle for 30 seconds or so. I scanned my computer with spybot, combofix. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSE, tried updating it, nothing is working. So, if I just leave the computer alone, that process starts up, and just runs. It doesn't use really any ram, or CPU, it just hangs there, and MSMPENG.exe starts chewing through ram. That is, until I open task manager. If I even hover the cursor over mpcmdrun.exe, it goes away, but stays there till I do. It repeats this frequently. Anyone else having this issue, or have a suggestion?

Both processes seems to be related to Windows Defender which may be part of the updated Microsoft security essentials. This could be some type of idle scanning function.

at least on win7, when MSE is installed, windows defender should get disabled automatically.
What OS you on?
