Converting from FWD<AWD 92' legacy wagon

New to the forum and have been looking for a legacy forum for awhile now. lol Figured my first thread should be about the question I have been asking and searching on for a week or so now.

So I sold my 1992 legacy sedan about a year ago and loved it, and now I have came across a 1992 legacy wagon (auto) for fairly cheap from work and I am thinking about picking it up.

The cars transmission is out and I'm thinking about swapping it from FWD over to AWD, but was curious on what all I would need to completely finish this project (Transmission, driveline, rearend?). The car is automatic, non turbo, and FWD:(.

Also has anyone here done this? I know I can do the work and I have the time, place, and access to the parts. Just need some Ideas on what I'm getting myself into. lol

Thanks for the help in advance!

Welcome to the BBS.

I'd suggest taking a look at my thread & write-up that is in the sticky compilation thread.

I did swap to a MT, but you can simply ignore that part of the swap write-up. You will need pretty much all the same parts for the AWD conversion and the AT trans. You may also need to replace the TCU with an AWD TCU.

Read over my write-up, and if you have any questions, just holler.

Thank you sir. New to this forum and since I'm at work, I didn't take a whole lot of time to look around. Thanks for the write up and I will look it over for sure! May want to do the MT trans swap as well depending what I can find.
