I have been looking at Hella 550's for the LS bumper. Was going to modify the lower section of the bumper to mount these.

Are there any other options for fog lights that would look good?

Do you think the 550's would look funny? Or should I search hard for the 04 WRX fogs?

the WRX fog lights you can find easily on NASIOC. there are not plug and play, i did have to do some modifing but i think they turned out really well.

Yeah I like them. But doesn't come with a relay or anything like that. So what that does is throw me off cause I hate wiring. My Hella 500 kit for my 96 came with everything. Just looking for ease of installation.

I think if I do it right the hella 550's might look good. But I don't really like square lights. She doesn't care though.

I guess i had never thought of it before, but is that area down by the towing hook the same on both preface lift and postface lift? Mine has sections there that look like covers kind of, but they look like they actually have to be knocked out for something to go there.

Wow! And that's a n/a bumper? Do you have any shots of the car "head-on" with the light off?

I went to pull a part and played around with some of the legacys there. the post facelift is straight across the bottom lip, where as the preface lift does a little upward jog and then continues over to where the fog lights go. Some of the legacys there had little amber lights mounted where your fogs are, so i took one off and tried to fit it on to a post facelift. The preface lifts have more clearance in that area, i couldn't even get the amber light to physically fit in height wise. So i'm kind of assuming that the wrx fogs won't fit on the post facelift cars without some physical modification to the bumper.

I took the turn signals out on my preface NA and had to cut a hole in the sheet metal right behind the signal so it would fit in flush.

Wal Mart has a "fog" light kit that works great on facelift cars. The rectangular ones fit pretty good and they only cost like 20 bucks. I have a set on my car and I've been nothing but pleased with them.

Without custom brackets, they can't be mounted much further in but they still work just fine. You will have to remove the blanks to get them in as far as I got mine, I had to take the bumper mounted tow hook off too as it got in the way. Oh and the headlights are baked too.

^^^+1 on the Walmart fogs. I found a set for $10 being clearanced there and put them on my 94L wagon. People ask if they are stock!
