i plan to get a Robs Tune setup as soon as i can, so what is the easiest injector upgrade? are there any specific ones that fit into our rails for a hassle free mod, or do i have to get different rails anyway? i searched around, it got a lil confusing with rail swaps, side and top feeds, etc... id appreciate a little rundown on injectors, thanks

It depends on what sort of "tune" you get from Rob's Tune ECU's. The normal that most people seem to get is the yellow 550 STi injectors. They can be fitted to the 92-94 non-turbo Legacy fuel rails.

Yes they are USDM injectors, 04-05 for sure and probably 06-07. I'm not sure if the newer STi's kept the same injector setup or went with something different.

Hi,
Rob has 2 tunes that I'm aware of: 440 (450cc actual flow) and 550 (525cc). The JDM 440's (grey tops/side-feed) will work w/the stock Ej22T rails. The USDM 550's (yellow tops/side-feed) require rails noted above.

The 440's are the 'easiest' to install as they'll work w/your existing rails AND if you ever decide to go back to the stock ECU you can run the 440's w/out needing to swap the stock injectors back in..it'll run Rich, but it'll run OK.

The 550's are easier to come by, as they are regularly available on NASIOC and other WRX/STi sites.

I'd HIGHLY recommend replacing the o-rings when you swap injectors...there is a 440 Injectors install thread on here, too. Be very careful installing them as the o-rings need to be lubed properly so they don't get messed up and leak.

GL,
Td

Just a note, the 550's seem to vary a bit in their flow rate. I know some say they only flow around 525 cc/min, but the ones I had tested were around 550.
