You don't want to take that little pin out. Take the 10mm allen cover off the side of the tranny and thread a bolt into the dowel pin and pull it out.

Its a 10mm allen(hex) for the cover. Once you have that off you will see a threaded hole find a random subaru bolt that will fit in it, put it in a few threads then pull the bolt backwards and the pin should come out.

I had a heck of a time breaking that hex bolt loose! It finally worked once i took a torch to the trans case, and put a big breaker bar on the bolt. I was crossing my fingers on not stripping it.

Make sure to grease it up or hit it with some anti seize before putting it back in to prevent corrosion.

Yea I've broken a few sockets on them, its wise to use heat first instead of a last option on old stuff. Mini propane torches are your friend.

Did the pin come right out? I had a hell of a time getting mine out. I had to use a full sized pry-bar like burglers use to pull it.

Not on a controller I hope...I can't handle typing on a controller. And if my pc were slower than my PS3 I would shoot myself in the face.
