Is there a way to rebuild a VF11 turbo with new bearings? Has anyone rebuilt a VF11 turbo that can help me out? Thank you!

I believe they can be rebuilt with new bearings. Is it something the home mechanic can do.....probably not....at least based upon my experience. I've got a vf11 rebuild kit for free if you want.

I'd like to tear one apart to see how they're built, it's a project right now so no rush for me. I'll take the rebuild kit, Thank you! I'll PM you my address.
EDIT: Or do you prefer Email?

If you want to try it on the cheap. Look for a diesel repair shop. Call them take them the turbo and rebuild kit. I used to do that and it would cost 50-100 bucks. They can actually make sure its still balanced and good to go.
But for 50-100 bucks on this car you could just go TD04.

My grandmonther used to say too much shaft play and you'll go blind, with that said...I second the diesel repair shop visit.

hahaha, I'm just getting started on learning about and building a forced induction engine so I want to start small then work my way up to an upgrade. I have a VF11 I'm tearing down to learn how to rebuild a turbo and another I'll be using to turbo a setup I'm going with.

They sell for that cheap on NASIOC all the time. $75-$140 all day long. I got mine for $140 shipped but only because it only had 2,000 miles and looked brand new. Sold it for the same price a year later lol. But when I was looking for one I saw them regularly for $80 give or take.

I was going to say the most expensive one i have seen so far was 150. On Nasioc they are all right around $100. And if you go to your local for sale section you can probably find them a bit cheaper since you dont have to have it shipped.
