So i dug around and couldn't actually find an intro area. This seemed like as good as place as any to introduce myself.

My name is Lindsay, im from just south of Kansas City originally but now reside in Spanaway, Washington. I have been browsing around for the past couple days as i should have by next weekend a 91 5 Spd Legacy Turbo in my possession. Kind of just fell in my lap. Already excited to start modding it, even though i originally was looking for something that would get me buy as a winter DD.

As for the SN, my toy is an 05 SRT-4 that i bought off the show room floor. Its set up for time attack/road course. Mods on it are either already done or parts are in my garage awaiting my return home, (I am in Afghanistan)

PTE 5557 Billet Wheel Dual BB v-band
Turbonetics 39mm Wastegate
Granatelli Coil Pack/Wires
Crane 14s
Ported Intake manifold with 62mm Throttle body
Custom Hardpiping with Tial Q Bov
Custom Front mount
Buscher Racing 3" TBE w/ 3" DMH cutout
Bosch -044 pump
-8 feed -6 return on e85
ID 1000cc injectors
Magnafuel FPR 50psi base 1:1 rising
Koyo Radiator
A/C-Heater core delete
ABS Delete w/ custom lines and proportioning valve
Wilwood BBK
13.3"x1.10 fronts
12.2"x.82 Rears
Enkei RPF1s
Gutted and caged
OMP HTE seats driver/passenger
6 Pt Schroth Profi II Hans-driver normal-Passenger

I think that covers it. I know i am missing a ton of stuff but that gives a good basis. The only work i have not or will not be doing myself is the cage.

Really looking forward to getting the Legacy under the knife. Seems like a cheap way to have a good time and beat on something.

Kind of makes browsing a pain. Especially when trying to visualize something you want to do. But i love having a new toy. Even though this whole time i have been out here i have been digging and buying stuff for the other toy. Now i have something new that i need to learn all about and make faster.

Do the SRTs handle well stock? It seems like everyone I've seen driving them looks a little afraid as if the car would be out of control if they floor it, so I just assumed they handle terribly even though the earlier regular Neons had a good reputation for handling.

The Legacy isn't a track king, they handle OK on asphalt—more old school balanced drifting than grippy hanging on the tires—but the big advantage IMO is that they don't really care about what surface is under them. I've turned off asphalt onto gravel at lower highway speeds without slowing down, embarrassed all manner of SUVs in the snow, and tried to scare off a girl I wasn't that into by bombing a hard snow-pack and rutted gravel road pulling as much angle around slides as the counter steer would allow (didn't work—she's bought two WRXs since) all with almost stock suspension and the car seems to shrug, like, "Is that all?". Even trucks I've taken down the same lousy roads at slower speeds are much less happy about it, never mind the other cars that feel like you're taking tens of thousands of miles off their life every time.

They are mediocre at best stock. I am probably knocking on close to 6-7 grand in just suspension to make it do what i want. Honestly it can be done cheaper but i wanted reliable and some of the cheaper options just aren't that.

Im not looking to make the legacy a track king by anymeans. Just somthing to jack around with when i don't have any work to do on the neon. I bought it to be a DD that i can occasionally beat on.

The neon is going through a massive overhaul when i get home. I might bring the build thread over here if anyone is interested. I already have it going two places so i could easily just copy and paste it. It should be pretty insane and im excited. Shooting for 500hp 500tq/2500 lbs with cage, me and gas. Its going to be fun finally doing what i have always wanted to with the car now that i have the means to afford it.
