Im about to cast some clear city light lenses for my wagon and I figured I would make a small extra to recoup the cost a little as well as help out some fellow first geners. Im not exactly sure how well they are going to turn out but if your interested let me know via pm and ill get updates and pics up here. Ill start messing with it after I get back from atlanta next week.

City lights are the lights on the sides of the inside in the JDM and EDM headlights I thought.

Are you machining the interior diamond pattern for light diffusion? How are you polishing or can you nail the high transparency with a very shallow finishing pass? If I ever build my own car, I want to make all my lenses and housings from scratch and I've been trying to find a garage-manufacturing way to do it. I have a fall back plan, but if they can be machined, that might make some things easier.

With the products being used it should be very little if any polishing. But again ill need to see. The diamond pattern will be there. These will be an exact mold of the factory lenses. There will be no machining of any kind.

Yeah, once you get them casted & polished, post up some pics. I think you'd have sufficient interest for several sets.

That's really up to you. You know the cost for materials, time to make them, etc. So you'll need to look at that and see what you want...

Just a small update. I have all the materials but I can't mix the mold due to the coldness that just hit colorado. Im going to open up the chemicals to see how bad the vapors are and if they are not too bad ill do it inside tonight.

Be careful! Nobody needs the side markers that bad, that you need to deal with noxious vapors in your house.

Ok so I've decided to replied the front face of the molds. Too many bubbles in the mold on that side would cause me to have A lot of polishing. So that will be 2 more days out. Also took the process to my shop due to my garage not cutting it for the resin to cure correctly....makes it difficult to polish.
They look great though. The diamond shaped diffusers turned out awesome. Its the faces that aren't meeting my expectations.
Next update sat or Sunday.
