Measurements, all in inches. Sorry for the inaccuracy, but the service techs
were hollering at me to get away from it.

16.25 x ~4 x ~3.5

I hear that there are 2 outs that join up before going into the throttle
body, but just one inlet from the turbo.

For what I see to the intercooler at the New WRX, it has one outlet
from the turbo and 2 inlet to the intercooler then back to one outlet
into the throttle body! Its as much like the Ver. 4 - Ver.6 WRX
intercooler, just larger!!!

Well, maybe.

I sent him his PayPal, and he'd said he would ship it on Saturday or
Monday, but i've not heard anything back since late Friday, i think.

I'm also trying to get another setup from a gentleman in Australia
who has upgraded. Hopefully i can get that one complete.

I have no qualms about sourcing another one, i know we'll pretty much
always have a market amongst this list for a working intercooler on
the cheap.

I know this has been discussed before but from what I remember there were
differing opinions. Some people said "yes" and others "no". I might be
able to get a good deal on an intercooler for the new 2002 US spec. WRX. I
have the US spec. Legacy Turbo with no intercooler and plan on retaining my
stock turbo. My question is does anyone know for SURE if this WRX intercooler
can be bolted on to my Legacy without any problems? This is an air-air
intercooler right?

Thanks,
Fred

It will fits with the 93-96 Ver.I-Ver.II WRX intercooler, the one sit
off angle, I do have it on to my 92 Legacy turbo in both US spec. and
JDM engine, and yes, its air to air intercooler and easy to install
and works good.

I know about the 93-96 WRX intercoolers but I haven't been able to locate one.
That's why I was asking about the 2002 WRX intercooler. Doesn't anyone know
if this one fits also?? Ben did you notice a big difference power wise by
installing the intercooler?

it fits, but will only work with a tubro that has no 90 degree elbow (IHI VF22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 30, 34, 35) or a stock WRX TD04L (new age).

If you goto the Legacy forum on i-clib, SXPi did it to his car with a stock WRX TD04L turbo..loks nice.

I will ahve pics posted hopefully by tomorrow of mine with teh Sti stuff in (TD05 and top mount from Sti V2 RA)

NO, the 2002 wrx intercooler will not just bolt on without problems. The angle that the turbo inlet exits is different from the wrx & legacy....so the intercooler will be different as well. I'm sure you could do some customizing to get it to work.....but it's not just a bolt up.

Doesn't the same problem exist with the 93-96 WRX intercoolers also re. the 90
degree angle not matching up with our US spec. Legacy's? Thus, wouldn't it be
just as challenging installing a 93-96 intercooler as it would installing a
2002 intercooler?
