Wait, so Canada has had the standard EJ22T hoses in stock this whole time? You hoarders!

$59 CAD is less than original USA cost.

I forgot about the Canadians getting the same car.

EDIT 7/31/12: I just confirmed w/Richmond Subaru near Vancouver, BC they are in the Toronto warehouse @ $64.87 CAD + shipping, so 'diesel devil' is making y'all a good deal.

Same Part Number in Canada, too.

Get 'em while you can!

Thanks

Install an MBC so you don't have to worry about the stock boost control valve plumbing. Then, put a check valve in the hose going to the middle fitting of the charcoal canister, so you can get rid of the auxiliary purge plumbing.
Not sure where this is. Which of these tubes are the auxiliary purge plumbing and where is charcoal canister? Which way does check valve go? I would imagine I follow the smallest vacuum hose from the intake resonator to some sort of vacuum fitting manifold that has three outlets. The middle of the three will be the one that was connected to the intake resonator. I would need to put a check valve in there, correct? Now, which way does the check valve go? Suggestions for source of check valve? As it stands if you've used a MBC and you've installed a check valve in the middle fitting of the charcoal canister, we have eliminated two of the hoses connected to the intake resonator. The only one left is the Idle Air Control Valve fitting.
vrg3 wrote:Now, get a piece of 3-1/8" pipe (the elbow coming off the MAF has an 80mm ID, close to 3-1/8"). Weld/solder/braze/epoxy/whatever on two 3/4" OD elbows (one for the IAC and one for the BOV), and a couple of 1/2" OD fittings for the PCV (probably one elbow and one straight). This will replace the resonator and everything that used to attach to the stock boot will attach to it.
I would imagine the fittings mentioned here are plain 3/4" OD and 1/2" OD tubes (90 degree bent or straight) which are welded on to the intake pipe (coffee cup mod) so that they can have IAC, BPV, and PCV hoses clamped to them, correct?

You can just cap off the auxilary purge or run a non-turbo charcoal canister. I'm running a non-turbo charcoal canister as it cleans things up a bit.

I'm going to give RHD-Japan a try. My intake is a V1 STi, so this will actually work out better for me. I'll post my experience with them here.

Let us know how that works, I have a TD05 with a 90 degree inlet and would rather use that elbow than the makeshift one I have.

I have the JDM elbow also, and it fits the td05 much better than the 22t one.

It might be a few weeks, they have ordered from Subaru. Eventually this hose will end up on my sedan. I just wanted to break the wagon's engine in with the stock set-up. My wagon will be running the inlet under the intake manifold.

Got the new elbow a week and a half ago. Nice and soft, and is a genuine Subaru part.

Has anyone considered using solid tubing (like copper or aluminum) so you can braze/weld in the needed bungs and use silicon couplers at the turbo and resonator box?

Its been done but some others. Certainly a workable solution if you're able to fab it up.

My elbow was toast, but I had to reconfigure the intake anyway since the engine is now in a Vanagon. But, it definitely can be done.

My Samco hoses work great! Ordered for my JDM EJ20G and it took a few weeks to arrive (hand made to order), but they fit perfectly!
