Are you planning to install this on a non-turbo or turbo legacy?

94 ej22t. Why, do you think there will be an issue? I have seen people here on this forum use this part and it looks to me like the best kit to fix my janky intake that came with my car. Please let me know your thoughts as I have yet to order this kit.

I was going to order the same setup but i found it cheaper on ebay. I thought i'd let you know too that it doesn't have the inlet for the secondary purge valve. It won't really make a difference though as that is an auxilary purge valve anyway.

You found it cheaper than $117 shipped?
Hmmm, didn't know that about the secondary purge. I've only had the car for a few weeks and this is my first turbo car. What needs to be done to make this kit work?

Just get a na charcoal canister from the junk yard and take out the secondary purge valve. Everything else is just bolts right in. This kit replaces the stock intake resonator.

If people have used it, then it should be ok.
I've run the open style intakes and the stock airbox, and you will lose a little bit of low end torque. There's also a chance for issues with the MAF sensor at a later date. Personally, I went back to the stock airbox, removed the snorkel in the fender, and added an additional intake elbow to the lower part of the airbox to allow more air. It's kind of the best of both worlds.

Yeah, I would love a stock intake but seeing as it came without it this APEXi is the best solution to me issue.

I'll be the oddball and say the Apexi intake rocks. If the $$$ doesn't bother you. The price is steep for what's in the box, its basically a cone filter and the piece that replaces your resonator. I got mine as a gift

Josh, I've been trying to locate pictures on how to do this to mine as well. Do you have pictures and maybe one of the elbow that goes into the fender.?

There are some pictures of the elbow I added here.

All you need to do is get a PVC elbow and use some smaller PVC to extend it into the box a little bit. I think we ended up using electrical conduit pvc since it fit snuggly in there, but you can piece whatever fits together. Then you drill a hole in the bottom of the airbox where you want it and then through the sheet metal leading into the fender. We used a small L bracket to hold it in place.

That sucks and is good to know! Sorry to hear that. I found this site just after joining the BBS. The price was much lower then. Please let the BBS know when and if you get your money back.
