This came on my '04 FXT. PO was told by the shop that installed it that it's a "Blouch 18G-XT turbo upgrade with an 8cm turbine housing".

Based on these pics, I'd say NOT...Guessing 'ebait special' (real Blouch @ bottom) :.

Anyone tell me what this is or the best way to find out?

EDIT: From Blouch turbo:

turbo you have is not a Blouch product. I can also tell you it has a 7cm exhaust housing not the 8cm. Its not a even a genuine Mitsubishi turbo that we use for all our subaru journal bearing turbos. By the looks of the compressor wheel, we can tell this is a China or cheap copy of the real Mitsubishi turbocharger.

Well, without any markings, all you are going to get is that it IS an 18G.

some asshole sanded the markings off?

I dont think they were sanded I think on the eBay turbos they aren't marked anyways.

that sucks.... just curious though, how did it run? did it still build boost and make good power? also, lets see some pics of this turbo Fozzy lol i love those things

^The 1st time I got into boost WOT it threw a CEL....IIRC it was due to an overboost. The car had a tune it on it, but apparently not a good one. But it did build boost, and ran OK, but I didn't trust it.

So, I just babied it 'til I put in a VF39/STi TMIC and a got a Cobb AP custom (but not Protune) tune online.

I want to avoid the endless mods (experiments?) I did on my Legacy....been there, done that. But that did give me experience in what to do w/the Foz.
