Hey everybody! It's been awhile since I have been on here but I'm need of some advice and people here generally are very helpful so if I could get some help on whether or not this swap will work would be awsome.
I have a hybrid motor in my shed and it consists of a 1994 ej22T block with 1999 2.5rs Sohc heads and intake manifold with a merged ej22t harness.
So the question is! Would I be able to put that engine into my 97 legacy outback v.i.a removing the early model merged harness and replacing it with my outback one? I don't think the intake manifolds swap...

the throttle body and iac motor is where you will run into issues. the sohc has a 6 wire iac, and the dohc has a 3 wire. you can use the phase 2 2.2 tb, it has a 3 wire iac.... However, with those heads your compression ratio is going to be high 6:1's to low 7:1's which is way too low.
get a set of dohc 25d heads if your stuck on a hybrid, they are cheap and flow just as well.

Just pulled the heads off the hybrid motor and the walls are silky smooth and the pistons have harsh valve train damage im not even going to bother. Parts are going up for sale.
