My wagon has a stock STi pitch stop. Should be a pretty easy install.

Haha Yeah, when i put my stock one back in last time, it was a pain to line up with the bolt holes. this one is alot thicker. Im sure it will work, but should i loosen the trans or engine mounts? I pretty much hammered the stock one into place last time.

I have a group n sti pitch stop and since I have the shorter sti 6mt trans mount the whole engine and trans are tilted back a bit the holes do not oine up anymore. I had to drill the hole wider in the bracket on the engine side.

I have the group N pitch stop and the group n trans and motor mounts. Had the same problem but was able to just strong arm it in with alot of swearing and a pry bar. My roomate also did this with his cusco pitch stop.

Oh I tried that. A LOT. No dice. It was way too far off.

Yea just talked to my roomate guess he had to "clearance" the bracket on the trans as well after I left the party lol. He also has an 6spd, I'm still using the 5spd.

With the 5spd STi (group n) trans mount, the aftermarket pitch mount should fit fine. Kimo's issue was with using the 6spd mount on a 5spd trans.

With the group-n motor mounts and tranny mounts already installed I installed the group-n pitch stop and it was a PITA but it did fit and didn't need any modifacations.

It helps to loosen your engine mounts when installing it.

I recently installed the Group-N trans mount and pitch stop with no major problems. Took out the old pitch stop, installed the trans mount and TIC cross member bushings, and the new pitch stop fell right into place. Definitely got some additional noise/vibs into the cabin but I don't mind it after a month. Car felt a lot more solid/responsive.

I'm looking into the Pitch Stop issues people have had.

During my current transmission swap from 4eat to 5mt I am installing Group N mounts onto the transmission, engine and pitch mount.

Trans was simple since everything was apart anyhow.

Engine mounts were fine, just that one rear bolt takes some time.

But the pitch stop is far away from fitting. The engine is leaning backward, so there is not enough space to get the mount to fit in.

When I first attempted to install it, I had already tightened up the Engine and Trans mounts. The motor would not budge at all (good sign I would say)

I loosened them all completely, hoping that would let me pull/push the motor to the correct angle.

I did not succeed, and since I never had any trouble with fitment in previous installs, I hesitated to put the pry bar on it.

But maybe that is my next step after all....

I remember it being a pain in the butt to install the pitchstopper when my group-n tranny & engine bushings were brand new. Pretty sure I used my biggest screwdriver to force the pitchstopper into place.

That is the one bushing/mount I have not replaced. I honestly just don't see that mount doing much of anything other than transfer noise to the firewall and into the cabin.

You are 100% correct, Josh. I went through a week of being pissed off on how much NVH the pitch stopper added. But with a wheel bearing going out and my powersteering pump whining, I don't really notice it anymore. ;)

With all the race bushings on my car I don't think I'd notice the difference if I went back to stock on the pitchmount. Its loud as hell already especially after the subframe locking bolts. But just get a dremel and widen the hole in the bracket and it'll be easy.

I've got all group N mounts or poly bushings and honestly....my Legacy is quieter than my Impreza is at the same speed.
