I think there's some minor wiring differences between the 90-91 clusters and 92-94 clusters. Have you done this swap yet?

i haven't done the swap yet i was planning on doing it this weekend. what kind of differences are we talking about? how hard would it be to swap? i would rather not waste my money getting a new cluster but if anybody can confirm this please let me know thanks!

I think I have a few clusters sitting around because of this.
Manual/Auto= different
Wagon/Sedan= Different

I think 90-91/ 92-94 are different also.

I think when I had to swap clusters, I too had to find something that was pretty much a 93 MT sedan cluster to work in my 93 SS

BUT I think you can swap out just the fuel guage part as well as the temp guage part from one cluster to another.

If you have yours out already, I would check the two screws in back that hold the guage in its place.

thanks, are the connectors all the same? so if i did find a gauge cluster that is identical to the one in my ss, would that be a guarantee that it would work? just wondering thanks, i just want to be certain, i see a lot of I thinks and from what i knows.. but thanks very much for your guys help. i just want to make sure. thanks!

When I did my cluster swap, I ended up with a MT Sedan cluster from a 92 to go into my 93 MT SS.
I know the clusters did change from 91 to 92.
I also know that the sedan clusters are different than Wagon and that MT is different from auto.
These are facts.
BUT, from my tinkering, I think you can just replace the fuel gauge from a 90/91 to another 90/91.
It should be just two screws in back holding that gauge in place.

If I was home, I could show you.
Or you can wait two days.

Yea as long ad you don't get a 90 cluster since they didnt have ABS. The locations of the warning lights changed on some years, I don't have pictures but I have done the swaps before and as Josh said the plugs in the back can differ. If it does you can just switch the black cover on to your old white backing.
