I bought a 2.0 and tranny for on my ss. I know the tranny is out of a legacy spec b 96,97,98 ish. but I don't know if that's what the engine is from Because it has a vf24 Turbo and yellow injectors and a wasted spark diamond coil on it. Also the two square engine harness plugs are on the drivers side of the engine and the round one on the passenger side. Could this be a sti engine? Is their any way of running the numbers off the block to tell. I got this combo from a salesmen in the area that only sells subarus and he bought it at a auction in a 98 gt legacy that was wrecked so he don't know anything about it didn't want it and sold it to me for a great price. I need to know so I can get parts and a wiring pin out.

The turbo and injectors aren't necessarily going to tell you what engine it is because those are easy to swap out.

Can you take some pictures? The appearance of the valve covers, the shape of the intake manifold, and the type of throttle body and IAC valve will probably help people figure it out.

Ok ill do that also I did some research the Trans should be out of a v4 sti. The code is 9R-TY752VBCAA. Ill get some pics up too
