So I have been pondering this in my mind for awhile I was wondering if any one on here has hear or have done such a swap as put a second gen front end on a first gen pre or post facelifted Legacy. One of the reasons I'm asking is because I have seen some nice projector headlight even with halos for the second gen and I can't seem to find any thing for projector lenes for our first gen legacys I'm guessing due to the rarity of the car. I would like to have projectors in order to put in hid's and not blind people. I have also thought about just getting some of the projector fog lights off a newer impreza and mounting them in the turn signal spot in the 90-91 legacy and rewiring the turn signals into the marker light and eliminating the marker light function.

I don't know of anybody that's done that. It would be less work to take stock headlights, gut them, and build brackets to hold good projector modules than to fabricate and modify everything you'd need to make the front of your 91 look like the front of a 99.
evolutionmovement did this -- he took
Hella 90mm headlight modules and mounted them in stock 90-91 headlight housings. Those are the same modules used in Morette headlights.
You can't use the stock 91 corner lights as turn signals. The beam pattern and intensity is all wrong. It actually is pretty easy to swap from pre- to post-facelift, though, and then you could have proper corner turn signals, and if you used the turbo bumper you'd already have a spot for the projector fogs that came from the factory in the rest of the world.
Or you could just mount aftermarket fog lights inboard of the turn signals.
Also, it's not clear whether this is what you meant, but I should mention -- you can't just put HIDs into a projector light that isn't made for them. Sure, the cutoff will keep you from blinding other drivers, but the light pattern under the cutoff will be all screwed up, so you still won't actually be able to see right. If your point is to improve lighting, you might as well do it in a way that works right. Projectors designed for halogen bulbs work best with those bulbs. If you use high-output bulbs and heavy-gauge wiring you'll be amazed how much light they'll put out, too.

I have thought about doing the Projector in the stock headlight housing i have been reading up on Florin1 mods that he did and i seen that he did the projector lens mod to his car and it look really good i also like the fog light mods to. i know that he used the projector lens from a audi tt but im wondering if the projectors you said would work for the factory housing with out much modifications

its being done
gc8 fenders, second gen legacy headlights and grill, gtr front bumper
the front half of the hood from the second gen would have to be grafted onto the preface lift hood
and the fenders from the preface lift and the second gen would have to be grafted together too
