I'm having some serious trouble with rubbing with these new wheels, and it's the kick in the ass I need to fix the camber, which is about at 0 even with camber bolts. What I'm worried about though is if I swap in lateral links from a GD I don't want it pushing out the wheels even further than it already is. From what I've read it pushes out the bottom of the wheel, in doing that will the tire at the top move in as well to give me more clearance? Or would it stay basically the same?

if you push the bottom out, the top will have to go in if the upper arm length doesn't change. but it will go in by a smaller distance than what the distance the bottom goes out.

Looking into it more I'd need new axles too...hmm, gonna have to figure out some way to do this, not trying to dump a bunch more money into it. Might just have the coilovers slotted.

yeah or use a slightly smaller bolt diameter on the top bolt. that will give you a degree or two at least.

I already have camber bolts though, kinda worries me having smaller bolts top AND bottom.

i agree in that case. ive also slotted struts before so that should work

the top of the tire is still probably going to come out a little, and yeah, you're likely to pull the axles out of the diff.

have you rolled the fenders already?

Yup, they are flat, I could pull them but at some point I'll probably lift the car and pulled fenders would look silly.

If I could find some cheap camber plates I wouldn't mind doing that, but I'm not trying to spend $400 on those things...

i dont think camber plates would work in the back. just because the side of the wheel well doesnt let you bring in the top of the strut any further. it would work if you wanted 'opposite' camber lol. unless your car has more room in there than mine.

slot the top hole on the coilover/strut where the knuckle mounts inwards

I think that is what I am gonna do, for some reason I had this idea in my head that I'd have to have it machined, but I can easily do it at home...

yeah it doesn't take much slotting to get a big alignment change. widening the hole by 1mm gets you almost a degree of camber.

Just got done slotting them, did the trick perfectly! Now I just need to reload the springs on the coilovers since it's all uneven, probably do that tomorrow, but it looks great right now! And it doesn't rub nearly as much even though I lowered it about 1/2" too. I'll snap a pic once I get the ride height all sorted out.

Also need to get my rear sway bar back in, but I need new endlinks first.

yeah I did a lot of slotting to my front struts. sti sedan cut out far enough to get -3 degrees of camber.

Whatever will get my 20-24 sway bar to fit, I think Kart Boy was the one people mentioned. But I need a new hood, so I'm gonna be running no sway bar for a little while, been taking too much money out of my m3 fund lately.

Jamal, can you get spherical rod end endlinks? Agency Power used to make them, but I can't find them any more.

best bet is to swap to the newer style rear lateral links. anything for a 92-99 legacy/outback, 93-01 impreza, 02-07 impreza wagon use the "C" style endlinks. Getting endlinks for the 90-91 cars these days is more an issue of making something yourself that fits now that the whitelines are no longer available on their own from what I can tell. a rod-end, a bolt, some washers, and some generic bushings would do it.

I can get Perrins, and yes, back in missoula for awhile.

I've already swapped over to the newer style, the problem is the endlinks I have rub up against the fuel filler pipe with it as low as it is now.

Also, couple pics of how I've got it now, I need to lift it another 1/4" or so though on one side.

Ah, ok. In that case kartboys should do the trick, they're shorter specifically for this reason.

the endlink shouldn't rub that filler tube my purple car is a bit lower then that and i have no issue with stock end links and a sti 20mm rsb

They aren't stock endlinks, they're Rallitek for my 20-24mm bar.
