Subframe questions.

Howdy,
The last few days I have been searching all over this site and the internet with no luck, I hate posting new threads about things that have already been discussed and since I have found nothing maybe it hasn't been discussed, so here goes.
I have recently come across a website where they have pretty affordable front and rear sub frames for Subaru GC/GD I know that these are different than our BC chassis.
My question is would they fit? I know a lot of parts are interchangeable and obviously supporting mods might be necessary if something like this was installed but I was just curious. I have a legacy and currently slowly building it up into I don’t know what yet but something like this would be very cool to add,
I guess if anyone knows or has a link to a post where this has already been discussed or maybe another company that makes something like this for our cars?
I have posted the link below.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again
Aaron.

Aaron,
If you can get a subframe for a GC chassis it should work fine. The only difference would possibly be the rear diff carrier bushings/bracket. The GD chassis would also bolt up, but may have some issues with how all the A-arms and other suspension geometry bolts up.
Their site is lumping GC & GD chassis into one. So they may be altering the design to work with both. Have you emailed them at all about the subframes?

decide what you are building it up to first. Have a $50k+ budget for stage rally or road racing? maybe these would be worth it. if not, you can find much more effective uses for your money (i.e. good coilovers).
they will bolt up but the front one might only work on turbo cars.
the only difference between a gc and gd front subframe is the width of the control arm bushing, which is a cheap part.

Josh, thanks for the info. I have not sent them an email yet I was going to eventually but thought I would look on here to see if I could find something anything before I bothered them. I will continue to see if I can find a little more information from them maybe they can enlighten me.
I have a Turbo SS so maybe it will work.
As far as deciding what I would like to do, I would like to have something that is rock solid and fun to drive, Im sure dropping massive amounts of money on turbos and 10 different setups to find out which one you like is just as cost affective as researching and running good suspension parts, not to mention the parts that you want. I always found the point of these forums is to showcase everyones individuality and their ideas and to help others learn. I have found most anytime I post about something I am interested in someone is always there to say its not worth it. quality comes at an expense as we all know, money is no option when it comes to my car. I want to build something else that no one else has and something that I enjoy to drive and take pride in. Im in no rush to save up and build the car that I have always wanted rather than sacrificing for something lesser.
Parts of this nature run 2 to 3x more than the prices they have listed and if you have the cash $2500 for a whole 4130 subframe setup would be pretty neat, not to mention the weight savings and the ragidity the car would attain upon installing and adding other poly bushings to the parts that have not been upgraded. I have DMS 40mm tarmac coilovers so coilovers are no worry to me.
And my focus Stage rally car has cost no where near $50k to build. I know where you are comming from Jamal, and you are right, I was just curious as if anyone knew of any posts where this was disscussed or anything else. Sometimes its hard sifting through 100s of posts and you dont always find what you need so thats why I posted.
Aaron.

This is the only other thread I've seen something like that subframe mentioned.

That's the kaminari subframe. I had one made for a GC time attack car last summer. I did have to specify where I wanted the lateral link mounts because he was going to put them lower on the subframe but it's an awesome part (although Mark from msi claims it's a knockoff of his stuff). But like I said, only beneficial on a high level competition car.
I spent about a year and a half as crew chief for this car:
and we did not bother with aftermarket subframes (I admit they would be nice to have for weight, stiffness, and geometry reasons). We did modify the stock rear subframe to change the mounting points, built mountings sleeves from solid aluminum, and have spherical bearings in rear suspension). The car holds a couple track records and won the modified tuner shootout last year.
Also, unless you have a roll cage that is preferably tied into the subframe mounts, you won't get much of a change in rigidity.
